WARD 2

The 2nd Ward is one of five wards that make up Mt. Lebanon. Its boundaries encompass a mix of residential areas, parks, commercial spaces, and two elementary schools— Markham and Hoover. In the Ward map below, Ward 2 is represented in orange.

Mt. Lebanon Commission

The Mt. Lebanon Municipal Commission is the governing body of the municipality and has several roles, including:

• Representing wards: Each of the five wards in Mt. Lebanon has a commissioner.

• Adopting and amending ordinances: The commission can adopt or amend ordinances and administrative codes.

• Establishing, altering, or abolishing departments: The commission can establish, alter, or abolish any department, office, or agency of the municipality.

• Collaborating with other boards and departments: The commission works with other boards, departments, individuals, businesses, schools, and institutions to promote public wellbeing and civic participation.

• Holding meetings: The commission meets on the second and fourth Tuesdays of each month at the Mt. Lebanon Municipal Building. The public is welcome to attend the discussion session, which begins around 6:30 PM.

The commission also elects a president and vice president to preside over meetings.
