About Margaret

Margaret Izzo has been a proud Mt. Lebanon resident for 25 years, where she raised her two children, both graduates of Markham, Mellon, and Mt. Lebanon High School. Her family has deep roots in the community, and she understands the importance of creating opportunities for the next generation.

As Mt. Lebanon’s Community Mediator, working in conjunction with the Civic Engagement Board, Margaret brings people together to resolve conflicts and foster understanding. Learn more. She earned her law degree from the University of Pennsylvania and practiced litigation at Morgan Lewis before dedicating her time to community service and volunteering with Neighborhood Legal Services.

Margaret has shown her commitment to Mt. Lebanon through five years of service on the Civic Engagement Board and as a board member of the Mt. Lebanon Community Foundation, Outreach Teen & Family Services, and other organizations supporting schools, athletics, and local initiatives. She was on the PTA executive boards of Mt. Lebanon High School and Markham Elementary School, reflecting her dedication to improving the educational experience for all children in the district.

Margaret honors her late husband Todd, who passed away from stomach cancer in 2019, by continuing to give back to the community that supported her family during difficult times.

Margaret’s experiences as a mother, volunteer, and advocate have shaped her perspective and commitment to listening to residents’ concerns. She is passionate about building a stronger, more connected Mt. Lebanon for families today and tomorrow.
