Margaret Izzo has been a Mt. Lebanon resident for 25 years, where she raised her two children, both graduates of Mt. Lebanon High School. Her family has deep roots in the community, and she understands the importance of creating opportunities for the next generation.

As Mt. Lebanon’s Community Mediator, Margaret brings people together to resolve conflicts and foster understanding. She earned her law degree from the University of Pennsylvania and practiced litigation at Morgan Lewis before dedicating her time to community service and volunteering with Neighborhood Legal Services.

Margaret has shown her commitment to Mt. Lebanon through years of service on the Civic Engagement Board and as a board member of the Mt. Lebanon Community Foundation, Outreach Teen & Family Services, and other organizations supporting schools, athletics, and local initiatives. She was actively involved with the Mt. Lebanon High School and Markham PTA, reflecting her dedication to improving the educational experience for all children in the district.

Beyond Mt. Lebanon, Margaret volunteers as a docent and board member at the Carnegie Museum of Art and the Andy Warhol Museum. She also honors her late husband Todd, who passed away from stomach cancer in 2019, by continuing to give back to the community that supported her family during difficult times.

Margaret’s experiences as a mother, volunteer, and advocate have shaped her perspective and commitment to listening to residents’ concerns. She is passionate about building a stronger, more connected Mt. Lebanon for families today and tomorrow.
